Media Advisory: Wayne State University to host national computer science summit

logoWHAT:

The national computer science education community will convene at Wayne State University for the second annual CSforALL Summit to celebrate progress and announce new commitments supporting the mission of computer science for students across the United States.

Taking part in this year’s CSforALL Summit is a diverse gathering of stakeholders that includes more than 75 speakers, 25 exhibitors and an estimated 400 in-person attendees. In addition, thousands more across the United States will attend online.

Oct. 8-11, 2018

WHERE:

Events will take place in a variety of areas around campus. Registration will be held in the Student Center Building on Oct. 8 and in the lobby of the Community Arts Building on Oct. 9.

MORE INFO:

More than 200 organizations will be announcing commitments to the CSforALL movement, focusing on the bold call to action of accessibility. Commitments will center on addressing equity for underrepresented students, computer science accessibility for students with disabilities, cybersecurity education, and evidence-based computer science education pathways. One of the esteemed speakers includes Lemelson-MIT Prize winner Luis Von Ahn, who will share his journey as an inventor, computer scientist and entrepreneur.
