UPDATED TIME CHANGE: New Student Convocation and FestiFall welcome new Wayne State Warriors to campus

WHAT:
Wayne State University President M. Roy Wilson, administrators, faculty and staff will welcome new students and their families to the university's 146th academic year. Wilson, WSU Dean of Students David Strauss and Lawrence Lemke, associate professor, Department of Geology, will address the crowd. Nearly 2,000 incoming students and family members are expected to attend.

The longstanding campus tradition will be followed by FestiFall, an outdoor celebration during which students can share a picnic lunch with deans and faculty members as well as learn about Wayne State's vibrant campus life from uppclassmen.

WHEN: NEW STUDENT CONVOCATION AND FESTIFALL POSTPONED UNTIL 1  P.M. TODAY
Because of the current weather situation moving through the Detroit area this morning, the New Student Convocation is postponed today until 1 p.m. FestiFall will begin right after the ceremony (2:00 p.m.)

WHERE:
Convocation will be held in the Max J. Pincus Court in front of the university's McGregor Memorial Conference Center, 495 Ferry Mall, Detroit, Mich. 48202. FestiFall will take place on the university's Gullen Mall.
