Wayne State English professor wins Fulbright Award

Jaime Goodrich, a Wayne State University assistant professor of English, has received a prestigious Fulbright Award that will allow her to conduct research and teach this upcoming academic year at the University of Sheffield in the United Kingdom.

Goodrich's research area is in early modern British literature and she will use the award to visit archives and libraries throughout England to research manuscripts written by English nuns between 1600 and 1800. The research will form the basis for an edition of the nuns' writings, as well as a book analyzing the role of literary production in English convents.

Goodrich will also guest lecture in undergraduate and graduate courses on Renaissance literature.

Wayne State University is a premier urban research institution offering more than 370 academic programs through 13 schools and colleges to nearly 29,000 students.
