Wayne State administrator recognized for outstanding service in academic advising

Cheryl Kollin, interim director of Wayne State's University Advising Center, has received the Outstanding Academic Advising Award - Administrative Role from the Michigan Academic Advising Association (MIACADA). The annual award is given to an academic advising administrator who demonstrates outstanding leadership in his or her field.

Anita Carter, the academic advisor who nominated Kollin for the award, can't say enough about her dedication to the advising center. "She has really worked hard to put us on the map," says Carter. "Inside and outside of the office, Cheryl has done a lot of great things for the center."

Kollin will receive the award during MIACADA's Annual Conference on Friday, May 18 at Davenport University in Grand Rapids, Mich.

MIACADA is an organization of professionals from colleges and universities concerned with the intellectual, personal and career or vocational advising needs of students in the state of Michigan.
