Wayne State and TechTown present "Why Entrepreneurs Should Care About Corporate Citizenship"

Corporate social responsibility is becoming increasingly important as companies strive to differentiate themselves from competitors, expand market share, and, most importantly, meet increasing consumer demand for responsible business practices.

During a keynote breakfast address, small business founder and CEO Alyssa Martina of Metro Parent Publishing will present "Why Entrepreneurs Should Care About Corporate Citizenship."

The free event is presented by Wayne State University's Center for the Study of Citizenship in partnership with TechTown and will be held at 8 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 24, 2012, at the university's McGregor Memorial Conference Center, 495 Ferry Mall. Donations of $10 per person are welcomed.

"Martina embraces social responsibility for her company's actions and encourages a positive impact through its activities on the environment, consumers, employees, communities, stakeholders and all other members of the public sphere," said Marc Kruman, Center for the Study of Citizenship director and Department of History chair.

Audience members will have an opportunity to interact with the speaker during breakfast and a question and answer session. RSVP at http://tinyurl.com/7ozmaul.
